SUMMARY OF POEM THE PLOUGHMAN
The ploughman is the poem written by famous American poet Oliver Wendell Holmes.It is about a farmer's life,hard work and living. Stanza 1 In the first stanza the poet says about the hard work of farmers.Their labour bring everyone's food even if it is a farmer's food to king's royal food.Farmers bring food to everyone without any discrimination by their hard work in the land.In the third line the poet mentions about 'a page'.Here page represent soil or land where farmers work.'The letters ' in the page means the seed that sowed by the farmers.That seeds will be changed into living green by sun. Stanza 2 In the second stanza,poet picturing farmer as scholar and the spade into immortal pen.
